Day 42. Pelahatchie to Brandon Mississippi. 14 Miles

What a nice and relaxing time I had at Yogi on the Lake Jellystone Campground. Everyone was so nice and the campground itself was very well up kept. I had a hard time sleeping the second night because of the ground under the tent being a little bumpy...I was just to lazy to move the tent I guess. Woke up around 3:30 am and layed there till it started to break daylight. Then I packed everything up and at 7:30 I headed out. When I got to the exit a car was coming in. It stopped and the person got out and called me. It was the Park Managers wife. She wanted to introduce herself to me and asked for a picture. As we were talking I noticed my cross was missing. After pictures and all she said a prayer for me and the walk. I am telling you, everyone has just been a blessing from God to me. I walked back to my campsite and found my cross...it was the pink necklace part I found. I chose it for breast cancer awareness and God chose it to help me find it! See how things work when you put your trust in Him.

Now I was ready to start again. I walked 1 1/2 miles to the highway I needed (80) and stopped to have breakfast. After eating I started again...I got about a 1/4 mile down the road and the front tire went flat. So back I went to the restaurant and sat at an outside table and fixed the tube. By this time it was 10:00 in the morning. I was going to go to Pearl but because of the lost time and I was a little tired, I did not want to walk 3 more hours, so I stayed in Brandon for the night. I passed out several cards today and most took an interest in them. Some shared their stories with me and me with them.

I also saw a Newspaper office there and went in to see if they were interested in doing a story on mental health and suicide awareness. Someone talked to me a while and took a few pictures...I hope they do the story so we can keep the issues of awareness alive and spread the word to more people.

Well, that's my story and I'm stucking to it. Good night and God bless you all. Mike the footcruiser!

  1. Hello it's me again Margaret...love the photo's. What a beautiful blue sky in the one with the flag, and more flowers for me. Did I ever tell you how much I love flowers? Nice talking with you today, and so glad for all your blessings! Keep them coming Lord! Love you and many more blessings with abundance, and may the blood of Jesus surround and protect you on this whole journey, but especially as you walk through Jackson! Just spread the love, and the message of Mental Health and Suicide Awareness and continue to praise the Lord and accept the blessings with a glad heart! :)
