Day 40. Forest to Pelahatchie, Mississippi

Today was another 22 mile walk. I am at Yogi on the Lake Campground. It is a wonderful quiet campground. It has a resort type pool with slides and other aquatic stuff for kids. I think tomorrow I will be a kid...lol!

Before I go on about my walk, I have to thank Tim and Rose for their generous support. Just to show you how God works, I was about four days from being broke. I sent a prayer up to God and left it in his hands. The next morning I got a text from Tim that he was sending me a donation.  The same night I called my wife and she said that a gofund me check came and she was going to deposit it in the morning. And one of my sisters friends had made a donation to my site. Trust in God and he will listen. Thank you all for the blessings, both present and past from all who have helped me in my journey so far. God is a gracious God. A loving God, just keep the Faith!

Okay I started my walk at 7:15 am or so this morning. I took a few pictures as I was leaving Forest. There wasn't much of a shoulder most of the way and the truck traffic was heavy because of all the poultry and feed trucks going by. I had to hop on and off the road quite a few times today. I also had a LOT of people pass me without knowing it. Yes, they were to busy texting and driving. Come on people, you are going to hurt or take your life or the life of others, DON'T TEXT AND DRIVE! Today I had someone turn around and come back because he didn't get to read my sign in time. He asked me about the walk, where I started and where I was going. He knew Sullivan's Island from a motorcycle rally he went to three years ago there. His mother was with him and he asked if they could get a picture with me and gave me a donation I could use to buy dinner with. Of course I said yes, and I got one for me to post also. Thank you Mike and Mom for your generosity. And thank you Lord for the blessing!

I arrived in Pelahatachie around 2:30. I had to take some pictures. The town is a quaint little town and the people here seemed nice. I like that. Then it was about a thirty five to forty minute walk to the campground and I was running out of steam...yes...can you believe that? It was a true blessing to arrive here when I did. I might just stay for 2 nights...I see a pool in the near future. Today it was around 90 degrees.  Needless to say..my shirt was wringing yet all day! But it was a good day just the same.

Remember everyone, It's not the house that makes the home...it is the heart. God bless you all!
