Day 39 Newton to Forest, Mississippi!

I left Newton around 7:00 am and started my journey to Forest, my next stop along the way. It was a twenty-two mile walk from motel to motel. It was a quiet walk most of the way. The scenery was the same as the last two days. Green grass, and tall tree's lined the roadway for the most part, with some homes scattered about. About 9 miles into the journey I came upon a truck stop. So I had lunch. Yep...you guessed...burger and fries. From there the truck traffick picked up along the route. Then about 3 miles  from Forest road construction...down to one lane. That was not fun at first trying to navigate between the grass and sand and the line of cars. After I passed the first steam roller they let me walk on the new blacktop. That was good because no one else could get on it...that's right I had it all to myself...ha, ha!. The town of forest had chicken statues in front of most of the businesses. Chickens are obviously their thing. There are numerous poultry farms and Tyso anf Koch foods have plants here so that's why everyone is so chicken.
Lol! The motels were about two miles off the route but I got a nice deal at one for the night. And as you can tell from this late post, I fell asleep early. I must have been tired. Today I am off for Pelahatchie, Mississippi. I will probably go to the Yogi on the Lake Campground.

  2. The chicken reminds me of those cows they decorate and put around Tittusville and Pennington this last month. Glad you had a nice place to walk for a while, happy traveling Mike. God Bless and keep you in his hands.
