My walk, is it over or is this a new beginning!

Well , it is Saturday morning as I lay in bed and reflect on the past 10 days..

It has been one amazing journey how I ended up in the hospital. Then finding out I have stage 4 colon cancer that has spread to my liver, wow, okay, I didn't see  that coming. Now that the surgery on the colon is done (removing about a third of my colon along with the tumor) I will now have to focus on chemo treatments on the liver. I will be returning home to have those treatments. It will be at least six months of chemo depending on how my body responds to it.

So it seems my cross country walk has been postponed or shall I say it has made another turn with an added adventure thrown in.

It has been a true blessing so far and I am not done yet, lets all work together to keep this journey alive and moving forward. My prayers are for all those suffering in silence, you are by no means alone and there are people who care about you...reach out to them and get the help you need. Keep going as a friend named Adam told me on my walk. Will I say that to you all...keep going...stay strong.

God bless you all. Thank you for reading my posts. Come back often to see what"s in store.  Lots of love and prayers your way. Mike

I JUST FEEL THE URGE TO WALK!

  2. Hey Mike,
Wow. I've got no words today for some reason. Truly God did guide you to this place, to address a situation which if you had been hanging out at home you might not of found out and well I am SO very glad you are getting the help you need. This particular walk might be postponed or over, yet we will still walk along side of you as you take this fork in the road. Do you realize that not only did God guide you to those doctors and people, he also made sure you found him in a big way, which is what you will need in the following months. FAITH. Faith is my middle name you know. I wish I could come and be a help to you and Val during this time. Surely you are always there for others. Attitude and Faith is everything in this battle and if you keep posting for us, we will keep cheering you on. And even when you don't feel up to it. Thinking of you all the time, and praying. May God grant you and your family. strength, faith a good attitude, laughter, will power and healing power, as you go through this trial. I am not sure the West Coast was to be the final saga of your journey perhaps you are right where you were suppose to be, to get what you needed when you needed it. OK, love you guys, keep your chins up and will talk to you soon.

  3. Hello it's me again Margaret! You have heard the words from me and Jess both that this is just another part of the journey and you will get back on your walk and finish the cross country walk! Gina said she would drive you back to Ruston to let you start where you will take the detour! God loves you and your testimony is amazing...nothing short of God's power! Through God all things are possible. No matter what anybody tells you it is up to God and you! We all have trials and tribulations. Through that we are strengthened!
God wants you to slow down and take some time to be with yourself and to get to know yourself. You are stubborn like Grace and if you didn't get a hard diagnosis you would just ignore the call and keep going as if it was nothing! Through getting to know yourself, then you can get to know Jesus better. Enjoy the time off. It may be the only vacation you will have. Focus on what you want to get out of life, and give back to life, and how you can represent Jesus. Love each day you wake up, and love the love that your family has to give you! You are nothing short of God. Be an example...you were amazing on your walk talking to people about mental illness and suicide, so just keep up the good work and continue to be the testimony! Love is what it is all about...learning to be more spiritual through the word of God. Learning the words of God in the bible. Oh, and don't forget that I love you, and send an abundance of Blessings your way!
