Can you see me?

You can see me smile,

You can see me laugh.

You can see me work,

And you can see me play!

You can see me shopping,

And  enjoying the day!

What you don’t see is on the inside,

Like how hard it is to smile,

How hard it is to laugh,

How hard it is to work,

Or how hard it is to play.

How upsetting shopping can be,

And pretending to enjoy each day!

I struggle on the inside

Wishing my thoughts could be clear.

The emptiness that consumes me

Can bring on some great fear,

Never knowing when my mind will snap,

And the "S" word  will appear!

If only you could really see me,

And get a sense of how I feel.

I hide it well from the outside,

And can tell you what you want to hear.

Can you really see me, or just what I let appear!

I just feel the urge to walk!
